Posch

David Posch, CEO of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital and Clinics and executive director for the Vanderbilt Medical Group, has been named to the newly created position of associate vice chancellor for Population Health.

In this position, Posch’s focus will be on the development and coordination of population health activities within VUMC and the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network (VHAN).

Posch arrived at VUMC in 1999 as chief operating officer for the Vanderbilt Medical Group, having served in administrative roles at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans and with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has served as CEO of the adult clinical enterprise since 2011.

Edgeworth

Mitchell Edgeworth, MBA, chief operating officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics, has been promoted to replace Posch as CEO of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital and Clinics.

Edgeworth joined VUMC in 2012 as chief operating officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital. In 2014, he was promoted to chief operating officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics.

As CEO of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital and Clinics, Edgeworth will focus on all aspects of operational performance for the adult clinical enterprise, ensuring patient-focused, high performing, results-oriented operations that support VUMC’s mission, vision and business operations. He will work closely with the clinical department chairs and operational leaders throughout the Vanderbilt Health System.

Harvey

Gayla Harvey has been named senior vice president of Revenue Cycle Services and Payer Strategy for Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Harvey joins VUMC from Texas Health Resources in Arlington, where she was senior vice president and chief revenue cycle officer. She assumes her new responsibilities Aug. 3.

Harvey will orchestrate all phases of the VUMC integrated revenue cycle including working closely with its affiliate network on revenue cycle services. She will also guide VUMC contracting strategy, working to develop innovative value-based payer partnership options.

Adams and Reese hires ERISA attorney

Breunig

Adams and Reese LLP has hired ERISA attorney Rob Breunig as an associate. Breunig served the previous three years as an associate attorney in ERISA matters at Wolds Law Group in San Diego.

Practicing law since 2012, Breunig advises employers and benefit plan trustees on a broad range of Employee Retirement Income Security Act, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, compensation and tax matters. He also is experienced in labor and employment issues.

Breunig earned both his J.D., in 2012, and his LLM, in 2013, from University of San Diego School of Law. He served as executive editor of the San Diego International Law Journal. He received his B.A., in 2006, from University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Colliers adds VP for industrial, corporate

Buntyn

Bill Buntyn has moved to Colliers International | Nashville from Colliers’ sister office in Dallas-Fort Worth to serve as vice president of industrial and corporate services.

At Collier’s Dallas-Fort Worth office, Buntyn was associate vice president of the industrial division. He was named in the “Best Broker/Power Broker List” by D CEO Magazine in 2014.

Buntyn will focus his practice on mid- to large-sized industrial tenant representation in Middle Tennessee and industrial corporate services across America.

He earned a degree in business administration from Mississippi State University. His diverse skill set includes portfolio analysis, transaction management, financial analysis and site selection.

Tumbleson joins MTSU as development director

Carolyn B. Tumbleson has been named the new development director for the Jennings A. Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University.

Tumbleson, who comes to MTSU with a sales and not-for-profit background, assumed her new role June 29. She previously served as vice president of development and engagement with United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties.

In her role as development director for the Jones College, Tumbleson will build connections with support from alumni, business and community leaders, and assist the dean in raising major financial and resource support for priority initiatives of the college.

She holds a marketing degree from the University of South Florida.

Lifepoint Health promotes Gagnon, Augusty

Gagnon

LifePoint Health has promoted two LifePoint Health Support Center employees to new positions. Ken Gagnon has been named vice president, pharmacy services, and Michelle Augusty has been named senior director, communications.

In his new role, Gagnon will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating clinical, operational, regulatory, and compliance activities for all hospital-based pharmacy services at LifePoint Health’s facilities across the country. He also will be instrumental in identifying best practices and trends in pharmacy practice and developing and implementing strategies to drive operational efficiencies system-wide. Gagnon previously served LifePoint as senior director, pharmacy services.

Prior to joining the LifePoint Health Support Center in 2009, Gagnon served as director of pharmacy for Castleview Hospital and Ashley Regional Medical Center, two LifePoint hospitals located in Utah. Gagnon earned his doctor of pharmacy degree from Idaho State University College of Pharmacy in Pocatello, Idaho, and an associate degree in arts and sciences from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.

Augusty

Augusty has been promoted to senior director, communications. In this role, she is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies for LifePoint Health and its hospitals and affiliated healthcare organizations. Augusty previously served LifePoint as director, communications.

Before joining LifePoint in 2012, Augusty was an account executive at DVL Seigenthaler Public Relations.

Pinnacle Financial hires senior vice presidents

Von Almen

Bruce Von Almen has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as a senior vice president and commercial card services advisor for the firm’s corporate services area.

Von Almen brings 29 years of financial services experience and comes most recently from CapStar Bank, where he was a treasury management officer. Prior treasury management roles were with First Tennessee Bank, AmSouth Bank and First American National Bank.

Von Almen earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Tennessee Technological University (TTU) in Cookeville.

Talley

Also, Trey Tally has joined Pinnacle as a senior vice president and trust advisor and is based at Pinnacle’s downtown Nashville office at Pinnacle at Symphony Place.

Tally brings seven years of experience and most recently comes from Regions Bank, where he was a trust advisor for the company’s private wealth management area. Previously he was a staff attorney for the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions’ legal division and served as legal liaison for its compliance division.

Tally is a graduate of Tulane University and earned his juris doctor degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.

Tally also holds a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation and is an honors graduate of American Bankers Association’s Graduate Trust Schools I and II, and its National Trust School.

Brentwood Services promotes Smitherman

Smitherman

Brentwood Services Administrators Inc. has promoted John Smitherman, CPCU, AIC, ARM, to the position of senior vice president of sales for Brentwood Services Administrators Inc.

Smitherman had served as vice president of sales for BSA since January 2014.

He was named assistant vice president of sales for BSA in 2007, after leading as director of sales for BSA since 2006.

Smitherman became a BSA regional claim director in 2003, overseeing the claims process for offices in Georgia, Montana, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Smitherman began with Brentwood Services in 1992 in the claims department and over the next five years held positions as a claim examiner, claim representative and field investigator before becoming a claim supervisor in 1997.

A graduate of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Smitherman holds a degree in finance and economics.
