NASHVILLE (AP) — A Nashville pastor who is working to raise $50,000 to build a community of tiny homes for the homeless is nearing his goal.

Pastor Jeff Obafemi Carr of Infinity Fellowship Interfaith Gathering Church told The Associated Press on Wednesday that's he's raised $35,500.

The homes would be just 60 square feet each and would have no running water, but there would be a communal bathroom, kitchen and showers.

A model home has already been built in what Carr wants to eventually name Infinity Village. He wants to build seven more and is living in the tiny house until all of the money has been raised to move forward with the project.

Carr has set up a GoFundMe account for donations to Infinity Village.
