NASHVILLE (AP) - AT&T is the latest Internet service provider to announce it is bringing gigabit speeds to Nashville customers.

The company announced Wednesday that the super-fast service first becomes available on Monday, though officials declined to say which neighborhoods will be served and how much it will cost.

Google and Comcast had previously announced plans to bring fiber optic service to Nashville. Comcast said its service will become available at the end of this month, while Google's service appears to be more than a year away. Neither has given pricing or service information.

Comcast and AT&T have been among cable TV and Internet providers fighting the expansion of municipal broadband in cities like Chattanooga. The Federal Communications Commission voted in March to override state laws blocking the expansion of municipal broadband.
