General Mills to expand its Rutherford County operations
MURFREESBORO (AP) — Global food manufacturer General Mills is investing $250 million to expand its current operations in Rutherford County.
Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd announced this week that the move will increase capacity at the company's Murfreesboro facility, creating nearly 120 new jobs.
The expansion will involve increasing production on existing lines, as well as installation of additional production equipment.
General Mills is one of the world's leading food companies, operating in more than 100 countries around the world.
Its brands include Cheerios, Fiber One, Häagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury and Green Giant.
