Police: Security will be tight for County Music Marathon
NASHVILLE (AP) - Police are warning that security will be tight and road closures could cause traffic delays during Saturday's Country Music Marathon.
Officials are urging citizens to be mindful of bagged parking meters and "no parking" signs. Police say they will begin towing illegally parked vehicles at 12 a.m. Saturday.
Runners and spectators are asked to arrive in the downtown area early to avoid a last-minute surge of traffic, and police are warning that traffic along the route will be restricted until runners have passed.
There will be "No Bag Zones" implemented along the start area on Broadway from 1st Avenue to 12th Avenue and at the LP Field Finish area. Backpacks, and other bags will not be permitted in those areas, regardless if they are carried by runners or spectators.
