AT&T has selected industry veteran Kristi Turner to oversee operations in Tennessee, Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Turner will guide sales and operations for more than 1,400 employees, 71 AT&T-owned retail locations, 415 national retail partners and 131 authorized retailers across both states.

Turner previously served as an AT&T executive director in market development in Atlanta. In her new position, Turner will be based out of AT&T’s Data Center on Franklin Road in Brentwood.

Turner first joined AT&T in 1993 and has held various positions in sales, sales leadership, sales operations and wireless strategy. Kristi holds a degree in psychology from Furman University.

TSU selects Freeman as VP for Student Affairs

Tennessee State University has brought a familiar face back in naming Dr. Michael Freeman as associate vice president of Student Affairs.

From March 2013 to his recent appointment, Freeman served as the assistant vice president and dean of Students at the University of South Florida.

Freeman spent nearly seven years at TSU, serving as vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management from 2006 until 2011, and assistant professor of higher education.

Prior to his arrival to TSU in 2006, Freeman served as the vice president and dean at Saint Mary’s College of Maryland.

Freeman holds a degree in general studies in psychology and sociology and master’s degree in counselor education from the University of Iowa, as well as a Ph.D. in counseling and personnel services from the University of Maryland.

George H. Cate, III and Gerald D. Neenan, partners at Neal & Harwell, PLC, have been elected as fellows of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, an association of 801 attorneys across the state.

Invitations to membership were extended to 29 attorneys this year by the Board of Trustees.

Cate joined Neal & Harwell in 1987 and serves as a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Cate’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation and crisis management. He is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the Nashville Bar Foundation, and Litigation Counsel of America. He is a member of the American, Tennessee, and Nashville Bar Associations.

Neenan joined Neal & Harwell in 1997. His practice focuses on business and personal injury litigation, real estate leases and the general representation of closely held businesses. Neenan is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Nashville Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation, and serves as president elect of the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce.

Adams & Reese’s Lampley elected TN Bar fellow

Adams and Reese Nashville Office Partner Brad Lampley has recently been elected a fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation.

At Adams and Reese, Lampley serves as partner in charge of the Nashville office and has served in that position since 2008. Lampley serves as legislative counsel to businesses and trade associations with interests before the Tennessee General Assembly and Tennessee state government. He also has experience in the areas of transportation, energy, health care and insurance, among other fields.

Lampley is serving a five-year term on the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees, is on the board of directors of the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.

Lampley earned his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Tennessee, in 1996.

Hastings Architecture expands Nashville team

• Laura Kneebone, intern architect: She earned a degree in interior design in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin and master’s of architecture from the University of Tennessee in 2014.

• Daniel Cremin, intern architect. Cremin earned a degree in architecture from the University of Tennessee in May.

• Jesse Allen, interior designer. She earned a degree in interior design from Ohio State in 2013. Jesse moved to Nashville from Columbus, Ohio.

• Rebecca Nelson, executive assistant. She is a Cincinnati native and graduated from Clemson University in 2001. She previously worked in Los Angeles and Austin, Texas before moving to Nashville.

Prior to joining Barge Waggoner, Herlein spent eight years with Bridgestone Americas, most recently serving as vice president of talent, organization & culture. She was responsible for areas that include leadership development, performance management, succession planning, corporate culture and organizational development.

Herlein holds a marketing degree and a master’s degree in organizational communication from Northern Illinois University. She earned her doctorate in business administration from St. Ambrose University.

Graves, whose blog “The Love List” has more than 60,000 readers, has been named one of “The 75 Most Stylish Southerners” by Southern Living magazine. Her writing and editing portfolio includes contributions to Town & Country, Southern Living, Atlanta Magazine, and Eidé Magazine. She has bylines in Four-Pins, Bearings Guide, Eater, and Garden & Gun.

Homebuyer educator award named for George

Tennessee Housing Development Agency has announced the creation of the Vicki George Award in honor of a retiring employee who has spent the last 22 years raising awareness of homebuyer education and counseling statewide.

The award will recognize an educator or counseling agency who excels in providing professional homeownership education and counseling that results in a significant improvement in housing opportunities for Tennessee families.

When George took over THDA’s homebuyer education program in 1993, there were 11 homeownership education counseling agencies in five counties. Today, there is an extensive network of certified homebuyer educators and counselors across the state. In the past 13 years, this network has provided homeownership training to over 61,726 Tennesseans.

Walker launches Supreme Auctions

Supreme Auctions, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based luxury real estate auction company, is expanding into the Nashville market with Mike Walker as managing director.

Walker is licensed in Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and Alabama, and will soon be licensed in Georgia and Florida.

Symphony names chief operating officer

The Nashville Symphony has hired orchestra management veteran Steven Brosvik as the organization’s chief operating officer.

Brosvik

Brosvik, who has more than two decades of experience in the orchestra field, was previously with the Houston Symphony, where he served as general manager and chief operating officer for nearly 10 years. He will officially join the Nashville Symphony staff in the spring, as the two organizations work together to ensure a smooth transition.

As chief operating officer for the Nashville Symphony, Brosvik will oversee orchestra and artistic operations, education and community engagement programming, fundraising, marketing and communications.

Brosvik grew up in Minneapolis, and studied piano performance and Dalcroze pedagogy with Robert Abramson in New York before earning a degree in music business from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. Upon completion of his degree, Steve was awarded a position in the 1994-1995 class of management fellows with the League of American Orchestras.

Over the course of 15 years, he has held positions with The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and San Antonio Symphony.

Legal Aid Society adds consumer, housing attorney

Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands named Zachary Oswald for its consumer and housing section.

Oswald has worked for Legal Aid Society since July 2014 as a legal fellow through the University of Miami Legal Corps Program, specializing in family law and consumer law. Prior to his time at Legal Aid Society, Oswald served as a law clerk at AMP Law, PLLC in Florida while attending University of Miami School of Law. He earned his J.D. degree in 2013.
