Hogan

Dan Hogan, president and CEO of Medalogix, has been named the 2014 Young Leader of the Year by Young Leaders Council, a Nashville-based nonprofit organization that has trained more than 2,000 men and women to effectively participate on the boards of nonprofit agencies.

The Young Leader of the Year award is presented annually to a graduate of the YLC training program from the past 29 years who has made significant contributions to the fulfillment of the YLC mission, as well as demonstrated a commitment to ongoing community service and board leadership to local nonprofit organizations.

A graduate of YLC Class 38, Hogan has been a member of the board of Young Leaders Council for the past four years. He also is president of the board of the Nashville Chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization.

Hogan developed Medalogix predictive modeling software to provide the healthcare industry with advanced analytics that enable providers to better meet the requirements of health care reform, as well as to help meet the need for increased efficiency and effectiveness in health care.

A Chicago native, Hogan holds a degree in speech communication from the University of Georgia.

New CEO appointed at TriStar Horizon

Greene

Dustin Greene has been named CEO of TriStar Horizon Medical Center.

Greene has served as TriStar Skyline Medical Center’s chief operating officer for the past two years and was instrumental in the advancement of the TriStar Skyline’s oncology and stroke programs, as well as the launch of the hospital’s Provisional Level II Trauma program.

He also helped to lead the expansion efforts of the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department.

Prior to joining TriStar Skyline, Greene was COO at Eastside Medical Center, a 310-bed facility in Snellville, Georgia.

Greene earned a degree in business administration from Samford University and an MBA from Belmont University.

Richard Hills (partner) has spent nearly 20 years providing financial institutions and their directors and officers with effective legal guidance and strategic planning advice. Prior to joining Waller, Hills was a partner in the Financial Institutions Team of Womble Carlyle’s Capital Markets Business Group in Atlanta. He earned his J.D. from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law in 1996 and his B.A. from Davidson College in 1992.

David Head acts as an advisor to health care companies for strategic transactions, including in the development, syndication, acquisition and divestiture of health care facilities, as well as in joint ventures with other providers of health care services, including physicians and physician groups.

Ashleigh VanLandingham assists health care providers, manufacturers and other businesses in strategic acquisitions and joint ventures as well as divestitures. Previously, she was with the Washington, D.C., office of Akin Gump and with Bose McKinney & Evans, LLP in Indianapolis. She earned her J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 2009 and received her B.S. from the University of Kentucky in Communications in 2005.

Andrew Garrett advises clients on mergers, acquisitions, securities and corporate governance. He represents clients in the health care, life sciences and biotechnology industries. Garrett earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2010 and his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 2007.

Zachary Hinkle works with health care and financial services clients in strategic acquisitions. He earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2012 and a B.A. from the University of Tennessee in 2009. Before joining Waller, he spent two years as Law Clerk to the Hon. Curtis Collier, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Ryan Franklin represents companies in health care and other industries in general corporate and business matters. He earned his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2014 and received his degree in business administration in 2011 from the University of Tennessee.

Dickinson Wright attorney elected to Bar board

Bigelow

Dickinson Wright’s Robert C. Bigelow has been elected to the Nashville Bar Association’s Board of Directors.

Bigelow, a graduate of both Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt Law School, previously served as the president of the NBA’s Young Lawyers Division and received last year’s President’s Award from the NBA.

Chamber announces promotions, additions

Hill

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the following promotions and new hires:

Judith Hill has been promoted from director, existing business, to vice president of business retention and expansion. In her new role, Hill will oversee all economic development activities involving existing business retention and expansion in the 10-county Nashville region.

Hughes

Alex Hughes has been promoted from manager, talent retention, to vice president of talent attraction and retention. A graduate of Belmont University, Hughes leads the expanded effort to ensure that the region’s workforce meets the needs of Middle Tennessee’s expanding economy. Hughes will provide support to existing businesses, relocating companies, HR professionals, young professionals, universities, and local organizations as well as workforce development initiatives supported by the Chamber. Additionally, she will lead strategic planning for regional talent development, provide workforce support for relocating and expanding companies, create programs for human resource leaders and young professionals and provide leadership for the Chamber’s WorkIT Nashville program.

Winn

Stephanie Winn joins the Chamber as manager of talent attraction and retention. A Middle Tennessee native and graduate of Belmont University, Winn previously served as event coordinator for the southern region of the T.J. Martell Foundation, where she was responsible for the execution of fundraising events and sponsorship recruitment. Winn also worked on the Red, White and Food campaign, which established a coalition of more than 30,000 Tennesseans to support the sale of wine in grocery stores across Tennessee. In her role, Winn is responsible for assisting individuals seeking career opportunities or greater involvement within the Nashville region. Key initiatives under her direction will be YP Nashville, the InternNashville program and NashvilleJobsLink, a Web-based talent recruitment tool.

Odom

Lori Odom joins the Chamber as director of international business, promoting stronger trade ties between Middle Tennessee-based companies and key global markets. Prior to joining the Chamber, Odom was vice president for economic development at North Star Destination Strategies, a Nashville-based consulting firm for communities seeking to establish or strengthen their brand in tourism and economic development. A graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, she also previously served as director of global project management for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development for 9 years

Sharp

Katie Sharp joins Chamber’s economic development team as an economic diversity project coordinator. Her role includes managing and maintaining all data for the economic development team, the development of marketing materials and coordination of requests for information. Sharp will also be responsible for the management of all inbound and outbound marketing events held by the Chamber economic development team and for coordinating with visiting prospects. Previously, Sharp served as a research coordinator with the Chamber’s Research Center. Sharp is a graduate of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.

Takacs joins Cabinet of Mental Health America

Certified Elder Law Attorney Timothy L. Takacs has been inducted into the Mental Health America of Middle Tennessee President’s Cabinet.

The President’s Cabinet is composed of Nashville-area leaders in business, health care, policy and government who work together to identify gaps in mental health services and define the largest behavioral health factors that drive healthcare and business costs in Tennessee. Takacs is the only elder law attorney to be named to the President’s Cabinet.

At a series of working lunches, the President’s Cabinet will respond to questions that will help MHAMT set priorities, identify resources and funding, and make headway in addressing behavioral health. Unlike a board of directors who have legal and fiduciary responsibilities, the President’s Council is empowered to think out of the box, dream big, serve as a think-tank, and help MHAMT make a difference without duplicating services that already exist.

Takacs is the architect of the Life Care Planning approach to elder law. He is nationally-known in legal circles and his innovations have transformed the way elder law is practiced in the United States. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Vanderbilt University School of Law, and has been in private practice in the Nashville area since 1980.
