LifePoint Hospitals has named J.L. Osei Mevs to director of government relations.

Mevs brings 15 years of experience in public policy and legislative strategy, regulatory research and analysis, government relations, business development and community outreach. He previously was with Meharry Medical College, where he served as vice president of external affairs and business development.

Prior to his tenure at Meharry, Mevs was project director, grants & solicitations, for MedStar Health, a health care organization and network of hospitals and healthcare providers in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area. His experience also includes serving as administrative fellow for Washington Hospital Center, and as a health care staffer for U.S. Rep Nita M. Lowey (D-NY).

Mevs holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from New York University and a master’s in public health from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.

Noe joins Barge Waggoner Sumner and Cannon

Mark Noe, PE, joins Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, Inc. as engineering manager for its Water Services business unit.

Noe was previously employed at Garver, LLC, in Franklin as a senior project manager. He earned a degree in civil engineering from Tennessee Technological University and has 19 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry.

Former Boscos brewer joins Corsair Distillery

Karen Lassiter, former head brewer of Boscos Brewery in Hillsboro Village, has joined Corsair Distillery’s award winning staff.

Lassiter’s beers have won more than 26 medals at brewing competitions, including a Gold Medal at the “Great American Beer Festival” for a hefeweizen. She was a homebrewer for 11 years before joining Boscos, where she has worked for 6 years, 5 as head brewer. Lassiter was trained at the Siebel Brewing Institute.

Corsair Distillery has had a breakthrough year, winning two “Distillery of the Year” awards, one for the American Distilling Institute’s “Bubble Cap” award in Seattle, WA and one for the Wizards of Whisky awards in the U.K. Corsair was named a “breakout brand” by Beverage World Magazine.

Corsair’s is building two new distilleries in the Wedgewood Houston area of Nashville. It already distills in Bowling Green, KY and Marathon Village. Corsair also has built a craft maltery facility in Bell’s Bend.

Watermark’s Shaw returns as executive chef

Chef Joe Shaw has rejoined Watermark Restaurant as Executive Chef.

Shaw, who has been in the restaurant business for 30 years, has worked on special events in French Lick, Indiana, Asheville, North Carolina, and Blackberry Farms in Walland, representing various restaurants. He has hosted dinners for Allen Benton for Benton’s Bacon, Julian Van Winkle for Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon, Carr Family Vineyards, Reynolds Family Vineyards, Victor Hugo Wines, Domaine Chandon and Cassone Vineyards.

He was one of five local chefs chosen to cook for the James Beard Dinner at Belle Meade Mansion and has done a 16-week cooking series in association with the Nashville Farmers Market, where he is still involved. Shaw has spent the past several years working as a consultant and general manager to other establishments in the Nashville area.

ReviveHealth hires senior VP, 7 others

English

ReviveHealth has added eight new members to its team, including Mark English as senior vice president for the agency’s Health Systems practice. English joins Revive from Baylor Scott & White Health, where he served as vice president of marketing and communications for the Texas system.

As senior vice president for Health Systems, English will serve as the strategic lead for branding and communication initiatives among the firm’s health system and hospital clients. He brings more than 20 years of experience in partnership marketing, internal and external communications, creative development, public relations, agency management, event marketing, and media relations.

Sedighan has extensive experience in public relations with a focus on health care communications, media relations, patient advocacy, product communications, issues/crisis management, and internal communications. Before joining the firm, she was vice president at ARC2 Communications & Media, an independent boutique health care communications agency.

Crosslin grows audit and assurance team

Crosslin & Associates has expanded its audit and assurance team with Blake Forgy, Dan Misar and Alexis Oliver joining as audit team members.

Oliver

Before joining Crosslin, Forgy worked as a tax associate at H&R Block Corporate Office in Lebanon. He earned a degrees in accounting and marketing from Tennessee Technological University.

Misar completed a tax internship at Ryan LLC before joining the firm. He also has served as an auditor for Flash Global Logistics in Mountain Lakes, N.J. He earn a degree in business administration from Seton Hall University and his master’s degree in accountancy from Belmont University.

Oliver served as a tax and audit intern for Lovoy, Summerville & Shelton in Birmingham prior to joining Crosslin. She earned a degree in business administration from Auburn University.

Fifth Third welcomes senior private banker

Ryan Morris has joined Fifth Third’s Private Banking team as vice president and senior private banker. He comes to Fifth Third from Dallas, where he served as senior vice president for a wealth management banking team since 2010.

Morris brings more than 10 years of experience in mortgage and private banking roles. He is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in selling and sales management.

Stone, Copeland elected to state Realtor offices

Two Nashville Realtors, Hagan Stone and Brian Copeland, were recently elected officers of the Tennessee Association of REALTORS at the statewide real estate association’s annual fall convention in Chattanooga.

Stone, of Pilkerton Reators in Nashville, was elected 2015 vice president, Division 2, and Copeland, chief of broker services for Village Real Estate Services in Nashville, was elected secretary/treasurer.

Copeland

Copeland, who graduated Carson-Newman University and earned a master’s begree at the University of Tennessee, worked in Nashville’s music industry before transitioning into real estate in 2005.

He also will serve as 2015 chair of the National Association of Realtors data strategies committee after a yearlong term on NAR’s leadership team as member services liaison to president Steve Brown. He was the 2011 Greater Nashville Area Realtors Realtor of the Year.

Stone, a Belmont graduate, was GNAR Realtor of the Year in 2010. He also was recipient of the 2014 Nashville Emerging Leader Award for real estate services.
