Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands is hosting a free program that provides an overview of common civil legal issues that a person might face. This class outlines your legal rights as a renter and how to assert them, what to look for in a lease, how to get your landlord to make repairs, how to get your security deposit back and more.

Donelson Fall Festival & BBQ

FiftyForward Donelson Station spins a 28-year community tradition into a festival with family friendly fun, food and The Haunted Theatre. Festivities begin Oct. 16 at dusk as The Larry Keeton Theatre (108 Donelson Pike, 37214) is transformed into The Haunted Theatre. Festivities continue Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. with live music, silent auction, children’s activities, FiftyForward Bargain Basement, craft fair and market and, of course, delicious barbecue. Mensa Admissions Testing

American Mensa will be testing in Nashville and Franklin at 3 p.m. Testing will take place in Hendersonville on Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. The organization open to anyone who scores in the top 2 percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. Mensa has more than 56,000 members in the United States and more than 110,000 members globally. Middle Tennessee Mensa has more than 350 members. Construction Career/Job Fair

The Home Builders Association of Middle Tennessee is hosting the event, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at LP Field. Those looking for a career or a fresh start at a new job will find opportunities at the event. Representatives from MTSU’s school of Construction Management will be in attendance to talk with individuals looking for professions in the construction and land development industry. Men and women interested in becoming home builders, constructions managers, land developers or sales agents are encouraged to attend and talk with school educators about pursuing their career. The Legacy of Stones River

Commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War in Murfreesboro by exploring the conflicting emotions of Southerners at the outset of the conflict and the destruction caused by four years of war. The day’s program begins at the First Presbyterian Church, 210 North Spring Street in Murfreesboro, at 9:45 a.m. with presentations by Prof. Erskine Clarke and historian Megan Kate Nelson. Afternoon sessions will take place at the Stones River National Battlefield, 1563 North Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, with a ranger presentation titled “Joseph Palmer: A Reluctant Leader,” which tells the story of the former mayor of Murfreesboro as he transitioned from an opponent of secession to leading his fellow townspeople during the Battle of Stones River. Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce TASTE

Ghost & Lantern Tour

Presented by City of Goodlettsville Parks at Mansker’s Fort & the Bowen Plantation House. Weave through the grounds of the Bowen House by lantern and take pleasure in an evening of tales spun about what may have happened on the grounds of Mansker’s Station. Start at the Visitor’s Center where you can enjoy music and refreshments. A Saint Thomas Health Ministry’s next event with a goal providing care for more than 1,000 low-income and uninsured people. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. These day-long community health events provide needed primary and specialty care and services at no cost, including:

  • Behavioral medicine
  • Dentistry – pediatric and adult
  • Foot and wound care
  • Mammograms
  • Prescriptions at no cost – made possible by the Dispensary of Hope

Second Annual More than Music Benefit Concert
