Rivera nominated US attorney for Middle Tennessee
NASHVILLE (AP) - President Barack Obama has nominated Acting U.S. Attorney David Rivera of the Middle District of Tennessee to fill the post permanently.
Rivera has been acting U.S. attorney since April 2013, replacing Jerry Martin. Rivera previously was an assistant U.S. attorney in the region, beginning in 2004, and worked in the U.S. attorney's office in the District of Puerto Rico from 1994 to 2004.
He was an assistant state attorney in Broward County, Florida, from 1994 to 1999 and an assistant district attorney in Bronx County, New York, from 1988 to 1993.
