School Board Candidate Forum. The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Urban League of Middle Tennessee and the Metropolitan Nashville Education Association, is hosting four forums with candidates for the Metropolitan Board of Education in June. Tonight's event features District 4 candidates Rhonda Dixon, Anna Shepherd and Pam Swoner, 5-6:30 p.m., at Two Rivers Middle School Media Center, 2991 McGavock Pike. Open to the public, each forum will offer the opportunity for candidates to share their vision for Metro Nashville Public Schools. All forums will be recorded by Nashville Education, Community and Arts Television for later rebroadcast on Comcast Channel 10 in Davidson County. Supervised activities for young children will be available during each forum. Additional sessions:

THURSDAY, JUNE 12

Nashville Symphony Summer Concerts

An annual summer tradition, which continues tonight at Two Rivers Mansion,  that embodies the organization’s mission of bringing outstanding music to audiences of every age and background throughout Middle Tennessee. Featured composers include Beethoven, Bernstein, Copland, Tchaikovsky, Cole Porter and more. All performances are free of charge (except where noted) and will be conducted by Nashville Symphony Assistant Conductor Vinay Parameswaran. The Symphony will conclude its free outdoor performances on July 4, when the orchestra takes part in Music City’s Independence Day celebration with a free concert in downtown Nashville on the Lawn at Riverfront Park that will also include performances by Billy Currington, Ashley Monroe and Striking Matches before the South’s largest fireworks show. Goodwill Career Solutions Job Fair

The Goodwill Career Solutions center will host a job fair for Walmart. The company is looking to fill more than 100 positions at its in Antioch and Thompson Lane locations. Openings include everything from department managers and customer service workers to cashiers and stockers. Representatives from Walmart will be on site, and interviews are possible. Jammin’ with the General

GJCC March Art Exhibit

The Gordon Jewish Community Center’s June art exhibit features the work of Yenny Walker-Zarama, Ken Walls and Florian J. Ceglarek. The exhibit, which will be open throughout the month of June, will open with a reception for the artists and public on June 11 at 7 p.m. with music by DJ Spun Counterguy. There will also be a special traveling Israeli art and jewelry exhibit taking place from June 10th – 14th.
