Nashville Habitat, Nissan among Energy Star awards
NASHVILLE (AP) - Four groups in Tennessee have been awarded 2014 Energy Star awards from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Energy Department.
The Partner of the Year-Sustained Excellence award goes to groups that exhibit exceptional leadership year after year in the Energy Star program by helping protect the environment through energy efficiency.
Tennessee winners this year are the Eastman Chemical Company, in Kingsport; Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville; and Nissan North America, in Franklin.
The Tennessee Valley Authority, headquartered in Knoxville, received the Excellence Award for activities that promote energy-efficient products, homes, or buildings.
According to the EPA, a total of 127 organizations across the country are being honored with Energy Star awards. The winners were selected from 16,000 Energy Star partners.
