TriStar Health has selected Jeffrey Guy, M.D., as its new chief medical officer. Guy will help lead the company’s clinical care goals at its 15 hospitals in Tennessee, South Central Kentucky and Northern Georgia. He replaces former TriStar Health Chief Medical Officer Douglas Ardoin, M.D.

Prior to joining TriStar Health, Guy was chief medical director for the pediatric program at TriStar Centennial Women’s & Children’s Hospital and director of the regional burn center and acute operative services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He also served as an associate professor of surgery, chief of the division of burn surgery, fellowship director of burn surgery, and course director of the critical illness immersion course at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

Guy earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. He completed fellowships in trauma surgery research at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, surgical critical care and trauma surgery at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, N.C., and burn surgery at the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also completed the Charles Fox Traveling Burn Fellowship with the American Burn Association. In 2009, Guy received a Masters of Management in Health Care from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.

Baker Donelson’s adds to Insurance Regulatory Group

David Broemel has joined Baker Donelson’s Insurance Regulatory Group as senior counsel in the firm’s Nashville office.

Broemel has extensive experience advocating on behalf of various insurance trade associations and insurance companies, and has drafted and helped to pass major insurance legislation in Tennessee. He defends his insurance clients in disputes and litigation, and also helps oversee their acquisitions and regulatory challenges.

Broemel previously served as the general counsel to the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (1974-1981), and serves on the board of the directors for the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He is a board member of the Battle of Nashville Preservation Society, and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

Clayton chosen president of state Realtors group

The Tennessee Association of Realtors has elected and installed Nashville Realtor Neal Clayton as its 2014 president.

Clayton, a 30-years real estate veteran, is the owner of BrokerSouth Real Estate Partners. He is a past president of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, has held numerous Realtor leadership positions at the local, state and national levels, including TAR secretary/treasurer, TAR divisional vice president and president of the Tennessee Real Estate Educational Foundation, the non-profit education arm of TAR.

Wollas joins Medalogix as clinical advisor

Medalogix, a Nashville-based health care technology firm specializing in predictive analytics, recently added Dr. Joseph Wollas to its team as a clinical advisor.

In his role, Wollas will advise the Medalogix team on matters of physician and patient needs to ensure Medalogix’s technology develops to meet the medical community’s requirements. Additionally, Wollas will conduct on-the-ground industry research to further enhance Medalogix’s predictive modeling solutions.

Wollas is a practicing emergency medicine physician with nearly a decade of experience in patient-centered care. He currently serves at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, where he is also a member of the medicine review committee.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, Wollas is a current member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Crosslin & Associates adds team members

Crosslin & Associates has expanded its tax and entrepreneurial business services teams.

The tax department has added Mariana C. Booth, CPA, MST, as a tax supervisor and Joyce Eddy has joined the entrepreneurial business services division as a senior entrepreneurial accountant.

With 14 years of tax experience, Booth most recently worked as the director of tax services for J. Wayne Vanderford, PLLC in Memphis. She also served as a tax accounting manager for AMSEC, LLC, and a tax specialist for AMERIGROUP Corporation, both in Virginia Beach, Va. Booth received her master’s degree in taxation from the University of Tulsa and her bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Norfolk State University.

Eddy brings nearly 40 years of office management and financial coordination experience to the entrepreneurial business services division. She most recently worked as a Financial Coordinator at American Pearl Company, where she managed all accounting functions through monthly financial statement preparation and year-end closing.

FirstBank hires Hartsfield as financial center manager

FirstBank has added Brad Hartsfield to its branch leadership team as vice president, financial center manager at the Green Hills location, which will open in November.

Hartsfield joins FirstBank with more than 10 years of banking experience, most recently from Regions Bank.

Teas joins LBMC’S Healthcare Services

Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC, has named of John Teas as director of business development in the firm’s fastest-growing segment – health care services.

Teas comes to LBMC with vast health care experience working with two of the top leaders in the health care industry, Johnson & Johnson Medical and Amsurg Corporation. His range of expertise encompasses medical devices and operating room procedures to surgical center operations.

A native of Nashville, he is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a degree in Economics.

Payne previously worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a web developer and research intern with Vanderbilt’s Biomedical Informatics Department. He is from Bon Aqua and graduated from MTSU with a degree in Computer Science.

Paige Watson has been hired in the accounting and assurance services department, where she will be working in the audit division in a variety of industries, including health care and manufacturing. Originally from Lebanon, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Tech University where she received both her MBA and accounting degrees.

Ingram Barge Company announces promotions

Dave O’Loughlin has been promoted to senior vice president, vessel operations and strategic sourcing for Ingram Barge Company.

O’Loughlin will head up vessel operations and oversee a strategic sourcing team comprised of the external services and purchasing departments. He most recently served as vice president of Dry Cargo Customer Service.

Brian Rafferty has been named vice president, customer service. In his new role, Rafferty will be responsible for Ingram’s dry cargo customer service and logistics planning functions. Previously, he was vice president of sales for Ingram’s liquid barge fleet.

Leigh Ann Baird has been named vice president, liquid sales and customer service. In her new role, Baird will be responsible for Ingram’s liquid barge fleet sales and customer service. Baird was formerly vice president, strategic planning and sustainability.

Chuck Arnold has been promoted to vice president, business and strategic development. In his new role, Arnold will be responsible for business development and oversee a portion of the planning and analysis group. He most recently served as assistant treasurer for Ingram Industries Inc. Arnold joined Ingram as senior analyst in planning and analysis in 2003 and has held various positions with both Ingram Barge Company and Ingram Industries Inc.

Dan Mecklenborg, senior vice president, chief legal officer and secretary, has assumed responsibility for Custom Fuel Services, in addition to retaining responsibility for Ingram’s legal, claims, safety and governmental affairs functions.

David Sehrt, senior vice president and chief operations officer, will assume responsibility for the barge maintenance and facilities teams, as well as retaining his responsibility for Ingram’s vessel engineering function.

Pinnacle Financial hires senior VP, financial advisor

Lee Campbell has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as a senior vice president and financial advisor for Pinnacle’s small business advisory group. He is based at Pinnacle’s Hendersonville office.

Campbell spent 18 years at SunTrust Bank, where he most recently served as area manager for 16 of its Sumner and Davidson county offices. Previously he was the branch manager for SunTrust’s main office in Nashville.
