Barge accident halts Cumberland River traffic

NASHVILLE (AP) — Authorities say river traffic on the Cumberland River has been shut down after a barge struck a power line that fell into the water.

According to WTVF-TV (http://bit.ly/1aOzRbD), the barge struck the line around 10 a.m. Thursday and at least one active power line is in the water near Shelby Park.

There were no reports of injuries.

Authorities say the accident remains under investigation.
