Nashville Airport hits 10M passenger milestone
NASHVILLE (AP) - The Nashville International Airport saw more than 10 million passengers during fiscal year 2013.
According to a news release from the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority the airport reached that milestone only once before - in 1993 at the peak of the American Airlines hub.
Airport Authority CEO Rob Wigington said the numbers underscore Nashville's thriving economy and vibrant tourism market.
In the past 12 months, Nashville International Airport has announced 14 new nonstop flights to New York City, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Newark, N.J., Pittsburgh, Pensacola, Fla., Boston and Athens, Ga.
The total number of passengers travelling through BNA in the fiscal year ended on June 30 was 10,064,661. That's a 3 percent increase from fiscal year 2012.
