NASHVILLE (AP) - The U.S. Attorney's Office in Nashville says a concrete structures supplier has agreed to pay $664,000 to settle false claims charges.

Sherman-Dixie Concrete Industries, Inc., supplied concrete end walls and catch basins, typically used in highway construction. The company supplied the Tennessee Department of Transportation and acting U.S Attorney David Rivera said many of the construction projects were funded through the Federal Highway Administration.

An investigation found many of the products Sherman-Dixie delivered did not meet strength specifications on how closely reinforcing bar was to be placed with the pre-cast products.
