Meiwa Industry to build auto parts plant in Lewisburg

NASHVILLE (AP) — Japanese auto parts maker Meiwa Industry will build a plant in Marshall County to supply carmakers in the Southeast.

The $6.1 million plant will employ nearly 100 people when it goes online in April 2014. Meiwa makes components including seat back panels, head liners and trunk and floor components for the auto industry.

The company currently supplies parts to Nissan, Toyota and Honda.

The new plant will be in Lewisburg.
