Cybera, Inc., a provider of network and application security solutions, has expanded its executive team by adding Greg Tennant as senior vice president of marketing and strategy, and Ron Robinson as senior vice president of sales.

Additionally, Cybera has promoted Scott Wolfe to vice president of engineering.

Tennant has more than 22 years of leadership experience, which includes starting, operating and selling two separate SaaS-focused companies. He previously served as senior vice president of the secure application division of Argus Systems Group, where he launched the company’s secure web appliance division.

Robinson has rejoined Cybera to advance the company’s sales efforts. Before joining Cybera, he was a regional director for Intermedia Communications, where he helped grow the company’s revenue by 400 percent. Robinson previously served in various sales management roles for Sprint, Telenet and GTE.

Wolfe is a veteran within the telecom, security and networking industry and has more than 13 years of experience, including the past eight with Cybera. He began his career at Cybera as a network engineer.

CapStar adds sales, financial center personnel

CapStar has added business development officers in two divisions, seven new retail and support staff, and announced two promotions.

Bruce Von Almen has joined CapStar as vice president, treasury management sales, supporting the commercial line of business. Von Almen began his career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Nashville Branch, and has for the last nine years been a treasury management officer for First Horizon National Corp (First Tennessee Bank).

Jim Ward has been appointed senior account executive for CapStar Commercial Finance. Ward will continue to be based in Atlanta, Ga., where he has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial finance middle market with such institutions as Orix Financial Services, Wells Fargo Equipment Finance, US Bancorp and Southern Community Bank.

Kim Yeager joins CapStar as executive assistant to the chief development officer and chief credit officer. Yeager was an operations administrative assistant at Amazon.com and previously spent two years with Cracker Barrel as a restaurant operations coordinator. She began her career with the Nashville Ballet, where she was a fulltime member of the company.

Leading the retail additions are two new financial center managers:

Tammi Narehood has been appointed vice president, financial center manager for the Green Hills office. Narehood comes to CapStar from SunTrust, where she had been branch manager for the downtown office.

Morgan Butler, vice president, will manage CapStar’s Hendersonville office. Butler comes from Renasant Bank, where he was a business development officer.

Joining Narehood in Green Hills is Kimberly Wingrove, formerly a Licensed Personal Banker IV at SunTrust, where she coordinated business development with the Private Wealth Management department.

Meridith Hobbs, who has been with CapStar since prior to its opening in July 2008, has accepted a new role as team leader for the customer service representatives who handle commercial and private client relationships.

Pam Price has been promoted to client services representative with the commercial clients in the C&I and HealthCare Groups.

Nate Collier has been appointed Financial Services Representative at CapStar’s Brentwood office. He was a lead FSR and teller trainer at the Franklin branch of SunTrust, and previously spent five years as the Director of Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Franklin, Tenn. He earned both a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master of Arts degree in Religion from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Michelle Hiam comes to CapStar as a Financial Services Representative in the Hendersonville Financial Center, bringing more than 10 years of banking experience in consumer and commercial lending. She was most recently a commercial lending assistant at Renasant Bank.

Rebecca Wells joins CapStar as a Financial Services Representative in the Gallatin Financial Center. She is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a B.S. in Sociology and was a Customer Care Representative with SunTrust’s call center. Most recently, she was a member of the relief staff at Renasant Bank.

Moses honored as AACR fellow

Harold L. Moses, M.D., Vanderbilt University professor and acting chair of cancer biology and professor of medicine and pathology, microbiology and immunology, has been named to the first class of the Fellows of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Academy.

Moses was the founding director of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and now serves as director emeritus of VICC. He is the Hortense B. Ingram Professor of Molecular Oncology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

The AACR Academy was created to recognize and honor distinguished scientists whose major contributions have spurred significant innovation and progress against cancer. The fellows were selected through a rigorous peer review process that evaluates individuals on the basis of their scientific achievements in cancer research.

Moses is one of 106 scientists elected to the inaugural class of AACR Fellows, symbolizing the 106-year history of the organization.

As director of the Frances Williams Preston Laboratories at VICC, Moses leads a team of investigators dedicated to understanding the underlying mechanisms that lead to cellular changes and tumor formation, especially in breast cancer.

Baptist Hospital names Elliott chief nursing officer

Baptist Hospital has appointed Jennifer Elliott, RN, as vice president of clinical operations and chief nursing officer for the hospital. Since 2001, Elliott has spent her nursing career at Baptist Hospital beginning in the emergency department.

In her new role, Elliott, a Tennessee State University graduate, will work with senior leadership, implementing strategic plans and objectives, while also developing and maintaining patient-centered care initiatives in collaboration with Baptist Hospital medical staff and hospital nursing staff.

Since beginning her career at Baptist Hospital in 2001, she has served in various leadership roles including charge nurse, nurse manager and most recently, director of Emergency Services and Critical Care. She has led the development of various projects including the Baptist Hospital transfer center and implementation of the computerized physician order entry technology in the emergency department.

Elliott was named Nurse Executive of the Year in 2011 from the Tennessee Hospital Association.

Fortune, Mitchell chair YWCA’s AWA event

Beth Fortune, vice chancellor for public affairs at Vanderbilt University and 2011 Academy for Women of Achievement honoree, and Rita Mitchell, senior vice president and manager at longtime AWA lead sponsor First Tennessee, have been named co-chairwomen for the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee’s 2013 Academy for Women of Achievement.

The 22nd annual AWA ceremony is set for Oct. 15 at the Renaissance Hotel.

The 2013 AWA honorees will be announced following a nominations process, which kicked off March 24. Nominees include women who are involved in efforts and activities that have made a positive, sustained difference in the community. The YWCA’s Academy for Women of Achievement was launched locally in 1992 by the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee. The Academy honors women who, through excellence and leadership in their chosen fields, serve as role models for other women. This year’s recipients will join 125 other women who hold this distinctive honor.

Achievements were recognized and celebrated in six categories recently at the 2013 Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business Awards.

Fifth Third adds to Healthcare Group

John Teasley, a 20-year veteran credit and corporate health care banking manager, joins Fifth Third Bank as managing director and senior relationship manager for the National Healthcare Group.

As a senior relationship manager in the Healthcare Leveraged Finance Team, Teasley works with health care companies and financial sponsors to provide lending solutions, interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives, loan syndication services, public and private bond issuances, treasury and investment management, and other financial products and services.

Prior to joining Fifth Third Bank, Teasley spent 10 years at SunTrust Bank and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey as senior credit officer for the Nashville and Memphis regions, and as a director in the Healthcare Corporate and Investment Banking Practice. His career in financial services began in 1993 at Regions Bank, formerly known as First American National Bank, where he held a variety of credit and relationship management roles.
