NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are closing little changed on Wall Street as the Standard & Poor's 500 index eases just below a five-year high reached the day before.

The Dow Jones industrial average ended with the gain of 17 points at 13,488 Friday. The S&P 500 slipped a fraction of a point to 1,472. The Nasdaq composite rose three to close at 3,125.

Boeing fell after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said it was launching a comprehensive review of the critical systems of Boeing's 787 after a fire and a fuel leak earlier this week.

Wells Fargo slipped as investors worried that its giant mortgage business was slowing down.

Rising stocks edged out falling ones on the New York Stock Exchange. Trading volume was about average, 3.3 billion shares.
