Public hearing set in Nashville for gas pipeline

Print | Front Page | Email this story

NASHVILLE (AP) — A public hearing will be held in Nashville for residents to comment on a plan by Piedmont Natural Gas to build a gas pipeline through a state natural area.

The hearing, planned for Tuesday evening at the Ellington Agricultural Center, will center on the utility's request to build the 14-mile line from Antioch to Belle Meade, which would cut through Radnor Lake State Natural Area.

WSMV (http://bit.ly/WEU3nd) reports that Piedmont has said that if approved, the construction of the pipeline through Radnor Lake would be done in a manner to minimize the disturbance of the surface of the park.

The public is invited to comment on the utility's request for a state water quality permit.
