NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - Natchez Regional Medical Center has reached an out-of-court settlement in its $46 million lawsuit against the hospital's former management company.

The Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/X82zAA) that details of the settlement are confidential.

NRMC sued Quorum Health Services of Brentwood, Tenn., which managed the hospital from 1992 to 2008. The hospital alleged the company mismanaged NRMC's resources in such a way that the hospital was forced to declare bankruptcy in February 2009.

The suit was filed in December 2009.

The settlement was announced Wednesday. The case had been scheduled for trial Friday in federal court in Natchez.
