Nashville searching for perfect Christmas tree

Print | Front Page | Email this story

NASHVILLE (AP) — Like Clark Griswold, the city of Nashville is on the hunt for that perfect Christmas tree.

Metro Parks is asking for the public's help to find the centerpiece for the city's holiday celebration and the Mayor's Tree Lighting Ceremony, scheduled for Dec. 7.

Horticulturalist Randall Lantz said the city is looking for a 30- to 40-foot Norway Spruce that looks good from all angles. He said officials are hoping to find one that has gotten too big for its current location.

Lantz said the Parks' Department would gladly cut down the tree, remove the stump and plant a replacement tree if the property owner desired.
