NASHVILLE (AP) — A deal to sell a financially troubled Southern Baptist camp in New Mexico to a Christian college in California has fallen through over concerns about theology.

Nashville-based LifeWay Christian Resources announced plans earlier this year to sell the 2,100-acre Glorieta Conference Center in Glorieta, N.M. to Olivet University.

The Tennessean reported Tuesday that the deal is off.

The camp reportedly has lost money in 24 of the past 25 years and isn't considered viable financially.

In order to complete the deal, the newspaper says Olivet had to show that their theology was compatible with Southern Baptist-owned LifeWay.

The school was founded by and maintains ties to the Rev. David Jang, a Korean immigrant who was investigated for his teachings in Asia.
