NASHVILLE (AP) — Prior to the second presidential debate, the public is invited to discuss the tensions between free speech and civility at a forum at Lipscomb University.

The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. It will be followed by a broadcast of the presidential debate.

Sponsored by the Tennessee Bar Association, the First Amendment Center and Lipscomb, the panel will include Lyle Reid, retired chief justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court, and Frank Sutherland, former editor of The Tennessean.

They will discuss why civility matters, what to do when civility and free speech clash, and issues related to civility in the court system.
