Free Legal Seminars at People’s Law School

This class covers “Health Care Reform: Learn the facts about the new Affordable Care Act, what the law can do to help you afford health insurance, how the reform affects Medicare and ways the law can help individuals get affordable insurance and more.” Individuals can register for one or several classes through Nov. 15 on a variety of topics, including:

Live on the Green

Free concert series held in Public Square Park in front of the Metro Courthouse continues with HoneyHoney; Trampled By Turtles. The six-week concert series, produced by Tuned In Broadcasting, Inc. in partnership with the Nashville Mayor’s Office, takes place Thursday nights through October 11. Independent Music Fest

More than 150 performing artists and songwriters from around the world will visit Nashville’s Music Row for the event, taking the stage along Demonbreun and Division streets from noon to midnight, Friday-Sunday at entertainment venues such as Red Rooster and the Music Row Best Western Lounge. Attendees also will receive hands-on advice, critiques and training on topics such as stage presence, the craft of songwriting, recording techniques, publishing, song plugging, contracts, product development, audio podcast development, video production, management and publicity. 2012 Nashville Beer Festival

The 2012 Nashville Beer Festival will celebrate craft beer and the growing craft brew community in Middle Tennessee, especially the 20 microbreweries located in the Nashville area. Southern Artisan Cheese Festival

This celebration of southern cheesemaking brings cheesemakers from six states to Nashville. The event will be held at the Nashville Farmers Market, 3:30-7 p.m. Cheesemakers from around the Southeast will be serving samples and selling larger quantities of handcrafted cheese. Artisan food accompaniments like local jams, honey, cured meats, bread, crackers, pickles and other items to pair with cheese will be available for sampling and buying. Nashville Cultural Festival

City Cemetery Living History Tour

This year’s tour will focus on the people whose lives were disrupted by the Union army’s occupation of the city, 1862-1865.
