Food, drink events spice fall festival schedule

Not only are these events a celebration of the best of food and drink, many of them contribute to local charities.

Nashville Whiskey Festival

Thursday, Sept. 20-Saturday, Sept. 22

The three-day festival will focus on the finest American made whiskeys and bourbons, allowing guests to meet and interact with distillers and distillery representatives. Tickets prices are $200 on 9/20, $40 on 9/21 and $75 general admission, $125 VIP on Saturday. Proceeds benefit the Nashville Clean Water Project.

PourTaste’s East Nashville Cocktail Crawl

Sunday, Sept. 30, 7-11 p.m.

The $50 general admission ticket includes one free drink each at Rumors East, Pomodoro East, Watanabe World Cuisine and Bar 308. This also includes access to the Tasting Room with a focus on spirits, cordials and liquors. Day-of ticket sales may be slightly higher. The $70 VIP ticket adds three food and cocktail pairings at the Holland House Bar and Refuge from 6-8 p.m. VIP Ticket sales end at midnight Sunday, Sept. 23.

Second annual Southern Artisan Cheese Festival

Saturday, Oct. 6, 3:30-7 p.m.

General admission tickets are $44 and comes with a souvenir glass for beverage sampling and a $5 voucher that can be used toward the purchase of any cheese or artisan food at the festival, located in the flea market building of the Nashville Farmers Market. A limited number of VIP $114 tickets are available, which includes early admission to the event, a $10 voucher, a swag bag and admission to a VIP-only “Makers N’ Mongers” reception the night before. This year, The Bloomy Rind will donate a portion of sales to the Martha O’Bryan Center in East Nashville.

Nashville Beer Festival

Saturday, Oct. 6, 1-5 p.m.

The $35 tickets allows for unlimited tastings of more than 80 craft beers in a sampling glass. Proceeds benefit the Nashville Human Association.

Stir the Pot

These two-day events that benefit the Southern Foodways Alliance originated in Raleigh, N.C., and recently came to Nashville. On Sundays, guests are treated to a five-course meal by a guest chef. On Mondays guests bring a dish to share for a potluck-style evening. Information: stpnashville.ticketleap.com.
