IRS employee sentenced for false tax returns

NASHVILLE (AP) - A federal judge in Nashville has sentenced an Internal Revenue Service employee to two years in prison, calling his actions an egregious abuse of public trust.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said 57-year-old George Albright of Nashville filed fake income tax returns that gave him $9,600 dollars over three years.

According to The Tennessean (http://bit.ly/QFatJ0 , Albright worked for IRS for 17 years. He will have one year of supervised probation after he serves his sentence. He must also repay the taxpayer money stolen from the government.

The sentence was handed down on Wednesday by U.S. District Court Judge Todd Campbell.
