Nashville to host cancer survivors convention
NASHVILLE (AP) — Nashville will host a new national convention to celebrate women cancer survivors next year.
National Women's Survivors Convention founder Karen Shayne announced the three-day event on Wednesday.
Shayne said in a news release that the convention will include speakers on cancer as well as fashion, food, finance, fitness and health. She said there will be a heavy emphasis on fun with the goal of celebrating life and helping survivors to "recharge and refresh."
A special seminar track will be geared for younger survivors and sponsored by Women Rock For The Cure.
The convention is expected to attract around 2,000 people and will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.
