2nd PAC with ties to Zelenik targets Black
NASHVILLE (AP) - A former campaign aide for Republican Lou Ann Zelenik has funded a second political action committee to take out negative ads against freshman U.S. Rep. Diane Black in the Aug. 2 primary.
Andrew Miller Jr. told USA Today (http://tnne.ws/O8Gopj) that he has put around $80,000 into the Congressional Elections PAC. He told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he's the sole contributor of more than $180,000 to another PAC, Citizens 4 Ethics in Government.
Miller is a health care investor and earlier this year was finance chairman for Zelenik's campaign. Miller and Zelenik also worked together on Tennessee Freedom Coalition, a group that identifies part of its mission as working against Islamic radicalization.
Black defeated Zelenik by fewer than 400 votes in the 2010 GOP primary for the seat.
