Public transportation use up in Nashville

Print | Front Page | Email this story

NASHVILLE (AP) — Commuter buses and a regional train in the Nashville area had more than 10 million passenger trips in the past year.

It was the first time the milestone was reached by the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Regional Transportation Authority of Middle Tennessee. Nashville MTA has 41 bus routes throughout Nashville and Davidson County. The RTA offers the Music City Star regional train and six regional bus routes.

Officials of the two agencies said the 10 million is almost 1.3 million more trips than the previous year.
