NASHVILLE (AP) - Two automotive manufacturers have joined to build a foundry in Lawrenceville.

The manufacturing operation announced Friday between TPR and Federal-Mogul will produce cylinder liners for aluminum block automotive engines.

Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty thanked the companies, saying the venture will produce 72 manufacturing jobs in southern Middle Tennessee.

TPR manufactures a number of powertrain products for the automotive industry. Federal-Mogul Corporation designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes technologies to improve fuel economy, reduce emissions and enhance vehicle safety.

The Lawrence County plant will be the companies' third joint U.S. venture. Operations are scheduled to begin in May.
