Full Moon Pickin’ Party. Friends of Warner Parks will host this month’s party Friday night at the Steeplechase Barn at the Equestrian Center (2500 Old Hickory Blvd.) in Percy Warner Park. This fundraiser features bluegrass music under the light of a full moon. All money raised goes to the parks to ensure preservation, protection, funding educational programs and special projects. First Saturday Art Crawl

Presented by 5th Avenue of the Arts, the monthly visual arts event occurs in the historic entertainment district of downtown Nashville. It is held on the first Saturday of every month, 6-9 p.m., and is hosted by an alliance of art galleries and museums. More than 20 art venues participate. Admission free. For the June event, The Arts Company on 5th Avenue of the Arts is featuring Contemporary American Artists: Thornton Dial and Gee’s Bend Quilters, beginning with the Art Crawl and running through Aug. 18. Middle Tennessee State University’s Small Business Development Center, in conjunction with the Small Business Administration, will conduct a free seminar on starting your own business. Battle of Franklin Trust 2012 Summer Concert Series

The Battle of Franklin Trust, which manages The Carter House and Carnton Plantation, will host a three-part concert series at Carnton, 1345 Carnton Lane, Franklin, presented by BancorpSouth. Advance tickets will be available at The Carter House, Carnton Plantation and BancorpSouth in Franklin, 914 Murfreesboro Road. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12. General admission at the gate for adults is $12, children 6 to 12 are $5 and children 5 and under are free.

Sunday, July 29: South Street Players will perform songs made famous in the 1970s.

Sunday, August 26: Greez Monkeez will play hits made famous in the 1980s.

All concerts are 6 p.m.-8 p.m. with gates opening at 4:30 pm. Patrons are also encouraged to bring lounging items such as chairs or blankets. Information: battleoffranklintrust.org.
