Social Media in the Workplace – OMG! This session, part of Baker Donelson’s Labor & Employment Law Third Thursday Breakfast Briefing series, will explore how social media is impacting organizations and what employers need to know in order to minimize legal risks, institute an effective social media policy and harness the benefits of employees’ social media participation. The briefing, which includes a networking period and breakfast, is complimentary, but advance registration is requested. The 63rd annual Franklin Rodeo

The Franklin Rodeo, a fundraiser for the Franklin Noon Rotary Club, takes place at 7 p.m. each night and is the largest pro rodeo in the state. More than 300 bull riders, barrel racers, bronc riders, ropers and wrestlers will pull into the Williamson County Ag Expo Center to compete for prize money and the coveted gold buckle. Free Neighborhood Shred Day

Local office records management company Richards & Richards has partnered with Civic Bank & Trust for the third annual Free Neighborhood Shred Day, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Civic Bank & Trust, 3325 West End Ave. The event is open to individuals and small businesses, with no limit on the amount of documents to be securely destroyed. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips or binder clips.

Keyword Advertising and Trademark Infringement on the Internet

Baker Donelson shareholder and Intellectual Property Practice group leader W. Edward Ramage will lead a discussion on the continuing controversy over Google’s Adwords program, which sells third parties’ trademarks as keywords that generate sponsored links. The noon event is part of the continuing roundtable and lunch series and will be held at 211 Commerce Street, Suite 800. It is free and includes lunch, but advance reservations are requested. Leadership Middle Tennessee Application Deadline

Leadership Middle Tennessee is a program founded to engage community and business leaders to focus on issues facing the region. Participating counties are Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson. Selected class members will participate in 10 one and a-half day sessions during 2012-13. Information: leadmt.org.

Farm Day at Real Food Farms

The public is invited to tour Real Food Farms in Grassland, dig in the dirt, meet the animals and have a lunch fresh from the farm’s fields. Potluck dishes welcome. 15th annual Memorial Day Dash 5k

The race will begin at 8 a.m. at Greer Stadium, 534 Chestnut Street, and end in the Nashville City Cemetery. Race day registration opens at 6:30 a.m. All proceeds from the NCCA/Nashville Striders-sponsored event will benefit the continuing restoration and preservation of Cemetery, one of the most historic plots of ground in Middle Tennessee. Treehouses: Great Works of Literature

Cheekwood has selected seven designers for its 2012 summer outdoor exhibition. Opening Memorial Day weekend, Treehouses focuses on great works of literature with whimsical and traditional Treehouses in the landscape at Cheekwood. This exhibition celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the first summer exhibition at Cheekwood, Terrific Treehouses. Previous exhibitions also include Playhouses and Forts, Big Bugs and, most recently, Happily Ever After. Information: Cheekwood.org.
