Cheatham County schools director resigns
NASHVILLE (AP) - An emergency meeting has been called by school board members in Cheatham County to discuss the abrupt resignation of their director.
According to WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/Jc2uSU), Tim Webb announced his resignation during the school board meeting Monday evening. The former state education commissioner didn't give the reason for his decision or his future plans.
In April, Webb said the school district would need $45 million for the next fiscal year and that 18 teaching positions would have to be cut to close the gap.
The school board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
