Free legal advice offered to state storm victims

NASHVILLE (AP) — Recent storm victims in 10 Tennessee counties can now get free legal advice.

A legal assistance hotline is (888) 395-9297 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. central time Monday through Friday.

The counties are Bradley, Claiborne, Cumberland, DeKalb, Hamilton, Jackson, McMinn, Monroe, Overton and Polk. All have been designated federal disaster areas.

The hotline is a partnership among the Tennessee Bar Association, Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services, the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
