Major disaster drill is today in Nashville
NASHVILLE (AP) - A multi-county disaster drill Wednesday in Nashville will evaluate the ability to respond to a catastrophic event.
Organizers say the event at LP Field may be the largest local disaster drill since 2006.
Representatives from Davidson, Sumner, Wilson, Williamson and Rutherford counties will participate, along with several others from local, state and federal government agencies. Dozens of volunteers will act as injured patients.
Organizers said the exercise will demand a unified emergency response from police, fire, emergency medical services and other specialty responders.
