NASHVILLE (AP) — The Harpeth Hall School for girls in Nashville is getting a $50,000 donation from North Carolina-based Lenovo, a personal technology company.

The funds will be used to advance education in science, technology, engineering and math. A statement from the company said the money is designed to encourage students to seek careers in those fields. It will expand existing programs at the school, which will hold a conference about the fields July 18-20.

Harpeth Hall is an independent college preparatory school with grades 5-12.

Lenovo bills itself as the world's second-largest PC vendor.
