Workshop Saturday on using DNA for research

Print | Front Page | Email this story

NASHVILLE (AP) - For the second straight year, the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville is hosting a free workshop about DNA testing for genealogical research.

The 2 1/2 hour Saturday session is recommended for those who attended last year's workshop or who fully understand the basics of DNA testing. Organizers described it as advanced training in the use of DNA.

J. Mark Lowe, a professional researcher, will be guest speaker again this year. He has been featured on the network TV show "Who Do You Think You Are?"

Organizers said people interested in genealogy make up a large portion of the State Library and Archives' customer base.
