Dual agriculture conferences under way here

Print | Front Page | Email this story

NASHVILLE (AP) - Meetings about agritourism and horticulture are being held together in Nashville through Saturday.

Under way are the Tennessee Agritourism Conference and the Tennessee Horticultural Expo, both at the Nashville Airport Marriott.

Agritourism refers to the business of inviting the public directly to farms for activities or farm products. Organizers said aspects of agritourism involve growing fruits, vegetables and other crops for visitors to purchase on the farm or at a farmers market, making the combined statewide expo a natural pairing.

Hugh McPherson, owner of Maize Quest Fun Park in Pennsylvania, is the event's featured speaker.
