NASHVILLE (AP) - Bridgestone Arena will remain the name of Nashville's downtown arena through 2019.

The Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Americas Inc. announced Thursday a five-year extension of naming rights for the arena.

In addition to Predators' games, the arena is used for the annual Country Music Association awards show, basketball tournaments, concerts and other events. It opened in 1996.

Bridgestone Americas, a tire and rubber company, is based in Nashville.
