Feeder bus fares into Nashville going up 50 cents

Print | Front Page | Email this story

NASHVILLE (AP) - Express fares on regional buses that carry commuters into and out of Nashville to surrounding communities are going up 50 cents effective Jan. 6.

The Regional Transportation Authority approved the increase Wednesday, citing higher fuel costs. The new charges are $4 for a regular fare and $70 for a 20-ride card.

The authority said it is the first increase in several years.

Meanwhile, spokesmen said they would be unable to add additional trips to some routes as proposed.
