NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee judges and attorneys have joined forces to create a program geared to educating the public about the legal system.

The Tennessee Judicial Conference and Tennessee Bar Association developed the GAVELS program, which stands for Gaining Access to Valuable Education about the Legal System.

Judges and attorneys across the state have agreed to make presentations about a variety of legal topics to groups wishing to learn more about the Tennessee judicial system.

The program is aimed at students, community groups and business organizations.
