NASHVILLE (AP) - Davidson County Circuit Court Judge Barbara Haynes has announced her retirement after 29 years on the bench.

Haynes, whose retirement is effective Nov. 15, has been a circuit court judge since 1990. She began her judicial career as a General Sessions Court judge in 1982.

Haynes was chairwoman of the Tennessee Sentencing Commission from 1986 until 1994.
