Belmont building $48 million facility
NASHVILLE (AP) — Belmont University is planning to build a $48 million, five-story facility on campus, but the school's chief says the purpose of the building is undetermined.
President Bob Fisher said Wednesday's convocation will be up to students and faculty what to do with it, according to The Tennessean (http://bit.ly/rbhwFQ).
The school's board of directors recently approved the money for the building. It's planned for a spot next to the Gordon E. Inman Conference Center and the Baskin Center, which will open in 2012 and house the College of Law.
Fisher says conversations about the building will begin next week with meetings with the provost and deans, then department heads, faculty and students.
Student Government Association Vice President JoAnna Adkisson says the organization will hold meetings with students about the facility.
