Wilson County Fair sets new attendance record

Print | Front Page | Email this story

LEBANON (AP) - This year's Wilson County Fair set a new attendance record this year with more than 545,000 visits to the weeklong event and beating the previous attendance record of a little over 505,000 in 2009.

The attendance numbers reported by The Lebanon Democrat (http://bit.ly/oQuKee ) are also higher than attendance recorded in 2010. The fair lost visitors because it had to shut down one day due to heavy rains and flooding in parts of the fairgrounds in 2010. This year's fair started on Aug. 12 and ran through Saturday.

The second Saturday of the fair also set a new single-day attendance record of 109,603, an increase of more than 16,000 people than the previous single day record in 2009.
