NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition has honored two individuals and a public TV station for their leadership in immigration matters.

Nashville Public Television (NPT), Daoud Abudiab of Columbia and Maria Cristina Condori of Memphis received awards at the fourth annual American Dream ceremony in Nashville.

NPT was recognized for increasing public understanding of new immigrant and refugee communities. Abudiab was cited for promoting civic participation of new immigrants and refugees. Condori was honored for improving the lives of grassroots members of the immigrant and refugee community.

The coalition said all three helped create a more welcoming environment.
