Russell Oldham has joined the Nashville office of CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) as vice president in the firm’s Capital Markets Multi-Housing Group. Oldham will work with Steve Massey, a 25-year veteran in multi-family investment sales. Oldham was formerly responsible for development, acquisitions, and finance at Hathaway Properties, Inc., a multi-housing firm based in Atlanta which has developed over 12,000 units throughout the southeast.

While associated with Hathaway Properties, Oldham was responsible for the sourcing, execution, financing and disposition of over $160 million in multi-housing investments. His experience also includes serving as land project manager for the Nashville office of NVR, Inc. A CPA, Oldham began his career with Arthur Anderson in Atlanta, providing financial services to public and private clients as part of the Assurance and Business Advisory Group.

Oldham earned his master of accountancy from the University of Tennessee in 2000. He earned a degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Tennessee in 1999. He and his family reside in Green Hills.

Baker Donelson praises pair for pro bono work

Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, has named Caldwell G. Collins and Courtney H. Smith its Nashville Pro Bono Attorneys of the Year.

Ms. Collins and Ms. Smith were recognized for conceiving and implementing Helping Advocate Against Violent Environments Now (HAAVEN), which provides legal services to victims of domestic violence. Through the HAAVEN program, the Firm was able to partner with the YWCA Weaver Domestic Violence Center and provide legal clinics and service to victims of domestic violence.

Ms. Collins is an associate and a member of the firm’s Advocacy Department. She focuses her litigation practice on products liability and mass tort, business litigation, and government regulatory actions. A 2009 cum laude graduate of the Washington University School of Law, Ms. Collins is a member of the Nashville and American Bar Associations.

Ms. Smith is also an associate in the firm’s Advocacy Department, where she practices in the areas of public contract law and complex commercial litigation. She is a 2009 graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School and a member of the Nashville and American Bar Associations.

The Key Alliance hires coordinator

Holly McIndoe has joined The Key Alliance as funds development coordinator. She will work to help raise financial resources and community awareness to assist with the implementation of Nashville’s plan to end chronic homelessness and reduce overall homelessness.

McIndoe, a graduate of Auburn University, most recently was the manager of the Nashville Chamber Public Benefit Foundation, where she worked for the past four years and fulfilled an essential planning role in a Poverty Symposium that led to the creation of the Nashville Poverty Council.

New grant manager for Legal Aid Society

The Legal Aid Society, Tennessee¹s largest non-profit law firm, announced today that Amy Williams has joined the organization as grant manager.

Williams has more than 10 years of experience in grant writing and management, strategic planning and organizational development. She comes to the Legal Aid Society from Vanderbilt University, where she served as an administrative professional. Prior to her work at Vanderbilt, she was the director of workforce development for Bethlehem Centers of Nashville and secured more than $500,000 in grant funding.

She holds a master’s from Tennessee State University and a bachelor’s from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Ill. She serves as board member for Grandma’s Camp USA and the Grace M. Eaton Child Development Center.

Hall Booth Smith & Slover adds Eberle

The Nashville office of Hall Booth Smith & Slover, P.C., today announced that Jennifer M. Eberle, a trial attorney specializing in medical malpractice, has joined the firm.

A native of Clarksville, Eberle received a bachelor’s degree in business management from Austin Peay State University and her law degree from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.

She is a member of the American, Tennessee and Nashville bar associations. She serves on the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee junior board of directors and is a pro bono clinic volunteer for the Nashville Legal Aid Society.

First Farmers adds Mallard in Cool Springs

Rory Mallard has been named private banking/business banking officer at the Cool Springs office of First Farmers & Merchants Bank.

The 11-year bank veteran will be responsible for providing banking and financial services to customers of the branch office located at 300 Billingsly Court in Franklin

Mallard joins First Farmers after a six-year career at Fifth Third Bank in Nashville, where he was most recently manager for the bank’s Music Row Financial Center. He was also inducted into Fifth Third’s President’s Circle for outstanding performance. Prior to Fifth Third, he was a financial advisor trainee at Morgan Stanley and a senior personal banker at Bank of America in Nashville.

Mallard is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.

Gardner appointed to TNCPE Board

Michael Gardner, division director of business operations for women’s health at Baptist Hospital, has been appointed by the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) to the 2011 Board of Examiners.

Every year, the TNCPE award program recognizes organizations demonstrating excellence in business operations and results. As an examiner, Gardner is responsible for reviewing and evaluating organizations that apply for a TNCPE Award. The Board of Examiners is composed of experts from all sectors of the regional economy, including business, industry, education and health care organizations, professional and trade associations and government. Examiners meet the highest standards of achievement and peer recognition in their fields. All members of the board must complete extensive training in the Baldrige

The non-profit Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence is an economic development organization that provides regional organizations access to low-cost performance improvement education and services. This is done primarily through the framework of an awards program based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. In addition, TNCPE provides educational opportunities throughout the year, including the Excellence in Tennessee Conference in February.

Morris joins Reliant as mortgage originator

Glenda Morris is the newest to join the Reliant Bank family as a mortgage originator.

Morris was previously employed at Malcap Mortgage where she was one of the company’s top producers. She specializes in VA and FHA loans and has added reverse mortgages to her expertise.

Morris is a graduate of Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga., and also attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for post-graduate studies. She continues to play an active role in the community by volunteering her time with various community agencies.

Catholic Charities announces new board

The Board of Trustees for Catholic Charities of Tennessee, Inc. has elected officers and new members for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. They are:

Emerson, Daden join The Wilson Group

Leigh Ann Emerson, a lifelong Nashville resident, joins The Wilson Group Real Estate Services as an affiliate broker. Emerson is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in interior design. She left commercial design in 2007 to pursue a career in Real Estate. She has gained experience while assisting managing broker, Christie Wilson. Maren Bader joins The Wilson Group as an affiliate broker.

New superintendent joins Castle Homes

Castle Homes, a long-time Middle Tennessee custom builder, has hired Michael McDonald as superintendent according to Alan Looney, company president.

McDonald, who is LEED certified, has been hired to assist Castle Homes in launching the Southern Living Showcase Home opening in late October in southern Davidson County’s Dorset Park neighborhood as well as provide on-site supervision of new home development in Arundel Court, Annandale and The Reserve at Temple Hills.

A Bellevue resident, McDonald is a graduate of the University of North Florida where he studied building construction management. Previously, he was an assistant project manager for PPI Construction Management, a commercial construction company.
