WALLAND (AP) — Travel + Leisure Magazine has ranked Blackberry Farm in East Tennessee the No. 1 resort in the continental U.S. and Canada for 2011.

Blackberry Farm, in the Smoky Mountains, offers mountain views, an array of outdoor activities and an award-winning wine collection. It opened in 1976.

Readers of the magazine picked the winner in balloting between last December and this past March.

The selection was announced Thursday by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.
