US Army Corps of Engineers getting new commander
NASHVILLE (AP) — The Nashville district of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers gets a new commander Friday.
Lt. Col. James Delapp will become the new commander, succeeding Lt. Col. Anthony Mitchell, who is taking a post in Baghdad.
Delapp has been in the Pentagon working under Gen. George Casey, the Army chief of staff.
The Nashville district encompasses the Cumberland and Tennessee River basins and includes a workforce of 800.
According to radio station WPLN, Mitchell managed rehabilitation of the Wolf Creek and Center Hill dams.
