Barlow honored with Beard Invitation
By Hollie Deese
Tayst owner and executive chef Jeremy Barlow will be the featured chef at the James Beard House in New York on Monday, Aug. 22.
The James Beard Foundation was established in 1986 in honor of the late cooking teacher, journalist and food consultant James Beard, widely considered the father of American gastronomy. Chefs from America’s finest restaurants and hotels are invited to cook in the kitchen of James Beard’s legendary Greenwich Village home in order to present their food to Beard Foundation members, friends, and press.
Barlow will be the first Beard House featured chef from Nashville since Sean Brock presented a dinner in 2005 while at the Hermitage Hotel.
To be able to share the experience with Nashville, Barlow will serve the same cocktail reception fare and six-course dinner with wine pairings at Tayst on Aug. 17-18, 6:30 each evening. Reservations are required and tickets are $85 per person. Call 383-1953 to reserve.
